Your next role
Swindon Borough Council are seeking a Family Support Worker to join the Family Safeguarding Team, working alongside social workers and partner agencies to support children and families where there are safeguarding concerns. The role involves undertaking direct work with children and parents, contributing to safety planning, and delivering practical, strengths‑based support to reduce risk and promote positive change.
The ideal candidate will be required to have the following skills: -
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills, an understanding of safeguarding and child protection,
• The ability to work confidently with complex families, and experience of multi‑agency working. A trauma‑informed, child‑focused approach.
• The ability to work proactively within a fast‑paced safeguarding environment are essential.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
