Job summary:


At Kiddies Cabin in Maidenhead, the team are looking for an energetic Nursery Trainee Assistant to join on a fulltime basis.


As a Trainee Nursery Assistant, you will support a group of children whom you will provide daily care and activities, as well as assisting in the completion of developmental reviews. You will be expected to maintain the standards of care and learning opportunities for the children in a safe and stimulation environment, supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Skills/Experience required:


The must have's for this role:

  • A basic understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • A basic knowledge of safeguarding children and child protection
  • 12 hour paediatric first aid training- desirable


Education/Qualifications/Training

Essential

  • Trainees need to successfully complete tasks/written work set by the training provider
  • Apprentices working towards an appropriate NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification
  • To complete the apprenticeship course and gain the NVQ Level 3 qualification you must have one of the following by the end of the course; Maths and English GCSE at Grade C or above OR Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English And pass an End Point Assessment


Continuous Professional Development

Essential

  • Apprentices, as stated in the EYFS a good standard of written and spoken English. Also be able to read and understand English such as to follow instructions or interpret a policy

Desirable

  • An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Paediatric First Aid Certificate
  • Food Hygiene Certificate
  • A knowledge of safeguarding children and child protection and appropriate protocol


Previous Experience

Essential

  • Experience of any work which demonstrates the skills required for the post

Desirable

  • Experience of team work
  • Previous relevant work in childcare

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Good communication skills

  • Flexible approach to hours which includes a willingness to attend meetings, training and nursery events as appropriate
