Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to professionally develop within a safeguarding and public protection role by, joining the corporate safeguarding team at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.This specialist post will support the statutory safeguarding functions of the health board. Demonstrating professional leadership and contribute to meeting Health and Care Standards in relation to safeguarding.
Working with the Corporate Safeguarding Team, to provide a high level, consistent and co-ordinated approach to Safeguarding practice across the organisation in accordance with local and national guidance and legislation relevant to Safeguarding.
The successful applicant will be aligned to CTMUHB Health Visiting service, however will be required to work across all areas of safeguarding within the health board, including the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Bridgend, Duty Desk at Ynysmeurig House and Child Protection Medical Hub at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. In addition, support and advise colleagues across health services for the purposes of safeguarding children and adults at risk.
This role requires someone who is committed to working in partnership to protect those who are vulnerable or at risk of abuse or neglect. Demonstrating versatility and flexibility to meet the needs of those that require support.
Main duties of the job
o The post holder will work as part of the UHB Safeguarding Team to provide specialist advice and support in relation to child protection, adults at risk and domestic abuse to all staff within CTMUHB.o Support and facilitate the revision, development and oversight of safeguarding children, adults at risk, DoLS and domestic abuse processes for the UHB.o Represent CTMUHB in multi-agency forums such as strategy meetings, conferences, core groups to ensure appropriate and proportionate information is shared to safeguard children and adults.o Where necessary act as chair for safeguarding meetings where a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency approach is required to safeguard children and adults.o Support the delivery of national safeguarding frameworks, strategies, policies and guidance.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
