Specialist Nurse Safeguarding Children

This job will provide specialist safeguarding children advice and support to practitioners across North Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

To deliver safeguarding supervision to staff across the organisation to facilitate good practice, professional curiosity and critical thinking.

To act in accordance with The Children Act 1989 and 2004 and assist in monitoring standards and procedures for safeguarding children in the Trust, including adherence to the requirement of Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018).

To work closely with Children's Social Care and other partner agencies to support the development of integrated locality working and provide safeguarding children advice on health matters.

To contribute to multi-agency and Trust audits and lead programmes of work to improve safeguarding policies and practice in collaboration with the Named Nurse / Named Midwife.

To support the Named Nurse / Named Midwife in service development and implementation of learning from Local and National safeguarding reviews.

To contribute to the Trust safeguarding training programme to ensure that the training requirements across the organisation are met and the principles of safeguarding are promoted and embedded into everyday professional practice.
